Issues that I see in Rebellion server PVP
Fights are too fast
As title says, fights are too fast. Ship can be destroyed in a seconds.
That is not good for noobs - they dont have time escape or understand what happening.
That is not good for pro-players - fast fights bring low satisfaction but lot of collateral work to repair ships after fight.
Weapons is very undurable.
Weapons are destroyed too quickly. That correspond with previous point - fights should less longer.
Lack of non-turret weapon for large grid
There is only one type of non-turret weapon for large grid - missiles.
Because of that and because of same damage as large turrets, players use rack of small grid gatlings.
PVP welder usage
PVP welder usage for the win. Civil welder usage is good, but in PVP, ADV welders become ultimate choice. Heavy armor dont even need steel plates to be repaired.
Note: numbers are not final and need to be tweaked after testing
- Reduce small grid gatling damage - 15% of current (XML tweak)
- Reduce small grid gatling rate of fire - 50% of current (XML tweak)
- Reduce small grid gatling turret damage - 15% of current (XML tweak)
- Reduce small grid gatling turret rate of fire - 50% of current (XML tweak)
- Reduce large grid gatling turret damage - 30% of current (XML tweak)
- Reduce large grid gatling turret rate of fire - 30% of current (XML tweak)
- Reduce large grid gatling and missile turrets turn speed - 30% of current (XML tweak)
- All weapons need decent amount of steel plates added above component list to increase durability (XML tweak)
- Welders welding speed need to be negatively bind with ship speed. The faster you go, the lower welding speed. (Mod)
- New non-turret weapon for large grid. “Cannon” (XML + Art)
– Big mass
– Low rate of fire (1s)
– Big damage - 300% of current LG gatling turret damage
- New non-turret missile weapon for large grid. “Torpedo” (XML + Art)
– Big mass
– VERY low rate of fire (30s)
– HUGE damage - 700% of current missile damage
– VERY low missile speed - 30% of current missile speed
What types of new PVP gameplay this changes might bring
Fights will become longer, what will decrease pressure on Players.
Even if player didnt saw enemy approach, He will get chance to run away.
Dreadnought type of ships should become valid ship design because of welder PVP nerf.
Slow, heavy armored but “PVP welded”
Mosquito ships - other type of ships that can be viable in this concept. Because of turrets turn speed nerf, skilled players will be able to take less damage while high speed orbiting target in close combat.
